Meet Katherine

Meet Katherine, co-owner, trainer, studio manager and the youngest of the sibling trio behind Athletica. Growing up in Chelsea and on the Gatineau River, Katherine spent over 10 years competing in sprint kayaking at a high performance level before deciding to hang up her paddle and travel the world a bit before starting university. After 26 countries visited and a degree in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Bishop’s University, Katherine retuned home in 2022 to start Chelsea Athletica with her brothers, Thomas and Paul.

Three year later, you’ll regularly catch Katherine regularly on the schedule teaching Train, Tone and Burn classes. When she’s not on the floor, she’s busy running the business behind the scenes—whether it’s planning the next CA event, fine-tuning the studio’s marketing and branding, or catching up on emails at the local coffee shop.

Katherine’s love for interior design, branding and community has truly come to life at the barn - as she continues to work with her brothers to bring a space to the community that feels like home, where people can come train together.

When Katherine’s not at the barn, you’ll find her somewhere around Chelsea either enjoying her 3rd cup of coffee of the day, or somewhere on the Gatineau river with her friends.

Favourite part about Athletica? I know this is so cheesy, but it’s the people. We’re so lucky to have the best members, who truly make what Athletica is, without them we’d just be a big empty barn with some weights in it. One of the best parts of my weeks at Athletica is when I get the chance to hop into a class and train alongside our members. I genuinely love getting to know everyone who walks through our doors and feel very grateful that they’ve chosen to train at Athletica.
